Jetlite is a privately owned low cost carrier based in New Delhi. The airline was established as Sahara Airlines on 20 September and commenced operations on 3 December with two Boeing 737-200 aircrafts. India’s premier airline, Jet Airways acquired Air Sahara and renamed it as Jet Lite. With over 147 direct flights connecting 34 cities across the country, Jetlite is known for its competitive value for money airfares, warm and experienced cabin crew, in flight services and on time performance. Jetlite has won many accolades such as Pacific Asia Travel Association Gold Award in 2003 at Bali in Indonesia during the 52nd PATA Annual Conference. The airline received the award for its Sixer initiative and was awarded as the Largest Web Merchant of India times for the year 2003
Jetlite Fleet
The young fleet of Jet lite comprises of New Generation Boeing 737-700s, 737-800s and Classic 737-400s besides a fleet of 7 regional jets. Jet Lite fleet also includes four highly advanced Helicopters (Dauphin and Ecureuil) that provide efficient charter services. Jet lite is planning to lease around six to eight 737 Boeing aircrafts in the mid term while ten new aircraft booked by Air Sahara will also join the current fleet from March 2009.
Jetlite Operations
Jetlite operates regular flights to all key cities including Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Pune, and Chennai along with regional destinations like Ahmedabad, Gorakhpur, Allahabad, Bhubaneshwar, Ranchi and others. The airline also flies to popular travel sectors like New Delhi to Bangalore, Mumbai to Bangalore, New Delhi to Mumbai, Bangalore to New Delhi, Mumbai to Goa, Delhi to Goa, and Bangalore to Hyderabad.
